Our Community Involvement
We practice law to make our community a better place. That commitment to community goes beyond regular business hours.
Fostering a culture of service and efforts to make a meaningful impact on our community
Getting Involved in Our Community
Van Horn Law Group is committed to serving the communities in which we live and work. This commitment extends well beyond the pro bono work our lawyers provide. It includes donating time, providing financial support and helping advance the causes of organizations and individuals who seek to make their communities better. We know the only way to help make positive changes is to get involved.
Big Brothers Big Sisters, the nation’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, holds itself accountable for children in its program to achieve measurable outcomes, including educational success; avoidance of risky behaviors; and higher aspirations, greater confidence and better relationships.
Serving on the board for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County and as a Big Brother himself, Chad Van Horn has this to say “I highly recommend Big Brother Big Sister – not just for the kids, but for the big.” Van Horn explained. “For me, it made me a more well-rounded person. It made me realize what some of my weaknesses are and what some of my strengths are. Because when you are dealing with a little brother that just doesn’t know things that you know, it’s amazing how you can see him grow and you grow at the same time.” Watch Chad’s complete interview on CBS Miami by clicking here.

Van Horn Law Group, a strong supporter of Big Brothers Big Sisters, would like to share the nonprofit’s recently launched new brand. The organization’s new, modern look and brand repositioning is intended to reach and help recruit more diverse volunteers.
“The need in Broward County for young people to have a role model is more urgent than ever,” said Ana M. Cedeño, President and CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County. “To attract more volunteers of all generations, we needed a modernization of our brand to make an impact in the community and meet the need of the essential work of matching youth with mentors.”
Chad Van Horn, founder and managing partner of Van Horn Law Group, has been a Big Brother mentor to Desmond for six years. He also serves on the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County board of directors as incoming board chair.
